The Importance of Font Management Software

I tried a Font Management Tool and even I was surprised what happened next!

I think you will agree with me when I say!

You rely heavily on fonts as a graphic designer, and these fonts slow down your computer considerably:

But does it have to be this way?

Creative, Engaging Content - What on Earth Does That Mean - Meet Samson

If you have ever managed a social media page you have probably googled ‘best social media strategy ideas,’ or’ social media post ideas’ - and you probably found almost 70% of those articles are not helpful.

All they tell you is to create engaging and creative content to trigger an emotional response, but what if you’re managing a social page for say an accounting firm, or something very niche and… sorry accountants, but not something all that exciting? And even if you are lucky enough to manage a fun page, what qualifies as engaging content?

So today, I am not going to give you a ready-made guide on “how to create engaging content,” instead, I thought we could break down an example of why Samson the ladle has become a new Instagram sensation and why 150k followers, including myself, enjoy following a ladle around his daily duties.

    Let's Talk About Typography

Back in the day, to create typography you would have had to carry around a heavy box full of metal type for a single font, individual letters and punctuation all to create one document. Then you would have to manually put the blocks in order before you could start thinking about printing.

Gone are the large boxes of clunking metal to be replaced with a laptop and an endless supply of fonts available at our fingertips. Though typography is no longer as physically exhausting as it once was, the wide variety of fonts now available to us can make choosing the right font for the job just as difficult as back in the day, even if there were a lot fewer fonts to choose from.

Red: It's Meaning, EMOTION & EVOLUTION

Colours are a weird and wonderful thing. It is bizarre to me that I can look at a colour and automatically understand the feeling and emotion behind it. However, my perception of the very same colour can change depending on the way in which the colour is being presented to me.

The truth is that everyone might react differently, and as we’ve discussed previously your age is one factor that can alter the way in which you view a colour. Using the same example, Millennials' are more likely to associate the colour green with energy and excitement. Whereas the Baby Boomer generation would associate green with calmness.

The colour I am going to focus on today is red. When you read the word ‘red’ what was the first thing you thought of? I asked a few people and their answers varied from ‘sexy’ and ‘passion’ to ‘danger’ and even ‘Taylor Swift.’

In this day and age, you’ll come across a variety of people. Some will consider themselves creatives while others believe they don’t have a creative bone in their body.

You’ll come across individuals who feel they can design creatively but can’t write anything and you’ll have individuals who feel they can write but can’t design.
